This week I am feeling slightly reflective on life as I am quickly approaching a milestone at the end of the week: I’m turning the big 3-Oh. Thirty. Flirty. And thriving. Sure, I stole that one from Jennifer Gardner from ‘Thirteen Going on Thirty,’ but that line has resonated with me ever since I first saw the film. I am reminded of a young girl who thought life would be awesome if only she were thirty. For the past few years I have not shared the same view on the age that ends your twenties and makes you half way to sixty. I have fought tooth and nail to not feel old. When you turn twenty, it’s cool because you are no longer a teenager and your twenties are bound to be the best years of your life. Then, a year later you turn twenty one when you can legally buy that round at the bar for your friends and later bet it all on red at the roulette wheel. After twenty one, what is there to look forward to? Nothing. Or so I thought. My twenties were filled with roller coaster rides of life for sure. So, what pearls of wisdom would my present self tell my twenty one self if we ever met via time traveling?
